Launch CRIS Report Designer

Create a New Report

  1. Choose File > New Report in the CRIS Report Designer
  2. Enter a name for the report
  3. Click on the Connection tab
  4. Verify the connection by clickingthe Test Connection button
  5. Click OK

Define the Data Set

  1. Choose Data > Data Set > Data in the CRIS Report Designer
  2. Verify the Name and Data Source
  3. Click SQL…
  4. Select a table to query and click the » button
  5. Click OK

Add a Query Parameter

Add a Report Parameter

  1. Choose Data > Data Set > Data in the CRIS Report Designer
  2. Enter a new Name and verify that the DataSource is DS1
  3. Click SQL…
  4. In the SQL Syntax Helper window, select a table in the tree hierarchy on the left
  5. Click the » button (The query with all the selected table columns appears on the right.)
  6. Click OK
  7. In the DataSet window, click OK

Add a Report Parameter, Part II

  1. Right-click in the Body and choose Properties
  2. Click Add and enter a name
  3. Enter the prompt
  4. Select the Data Set Name, Value Field and Display Field
  5. Click OK

Create a Table

  1. In the Report Designer window, right-click a cell in the existing table and choose Delete Table.
  2. Right-click in the Body and choose Insert > Table.
  3. Click the » button
  4. Click OK

Preview the Report

  1. Click Preview
  2. Make a selection
  3. Click Run Report

Save a Report

  1. In the Report Designer window, choose File > Save.
  2. Browse to a location on your hard disk
  3. Enter a file name
  4. Click Save in the toolbar

Modify an Existing Report

  1. In the Report Designer window, choose File > Open CRIS Object
  2. Select the report you wish to modify
  3. Click Open
  4. Use Report Designer to make changes to and/or reformat the report
